Event Staff

(Bear in mind that once you join this email list, you can no longer PC Seven Virtues without campaign staff permission.)

NOTE: You cannot switch to PCing once you have NPCed Seven Virtues, due to our open information policy. Therefore, PCs cannot take NPC shifts, or NPC if they didn’t make the registration cutoff for the event.

Here are a few reasons to join our Event Staff:

• Precast roles for everyone who pre-registers to NPC by 3 weeks before the event
• Guaranteed ratio of at least 1 NPC to every 2 PCs (we stop accepting PC pre-regs if we’re in danger of falling short of this ratio)
• CP exchange with many Accelerant campaigns
• Philosophy of inclusion: event staff are our co-conspirators, not minions; we hand out named, plot-critical, and recurring roles to event staff every event
• We promise to do everything we can to get you writeups and costume info in advance of the event
• We strive to make sure every role has a purpose & motivation; we avoid “random crunchies”
• Mix of both RP and combat roles available every event; we can weight your ratio to your preference

Please do try to fill out our Staff Questionnaire, available on our NPC Yahoogroup (above). This is vital in helping us precast you in roles you’ll enjoy. We take your fun very seriously, and if you pre-reg far enough in advance, we will do everything we can to cast you in roles you’ll like! But we start casting 1 month before the event, so do try to pre-reg early!

Permanent Staff

We hope you’ll sign up for Permanent Staff. Permanent Staff commit to come to every event they can (at least 3/4), and to tell us as far in advance as possible (preferably at least a month) if they can’t make an event, and in return get the following perks:

• At least one recurring role that appears at most or all events
• More likely to be cast as key plot roles, since we know you’re coming and are familiar with the campaign
• In rare cases, there may be extremely sensitive plot information that we are only comfortable sharing with those who make the commitment to Permanent Staff.

More Details

A few notes about our event (also called weekend) staff policies:

• We plan to cap player registration for all events at twice the number of registered weekend staff, thus guaranteeing a 1/2 or better NPC/PC ratio. If more PCs want to register, they are encouraged to help find weekend staff. (Note that we do not anticipate this being a problem, as we have enough Permanent Staff to easily exceed this ratio.)

• PCs cannot take NPC shifts or NPC some events and then PC again, since we share information freely with NPCs. NPCs can decide to PC if they don’t know too much sensitive information, after getting campaign staff approval.

• Anyone interested in staffing can sign up to become Permanent Staff. Permanent Staff commit to attend most events, and are assumed to be attending unless they inform us in advance otherwise. Permanent Staff get at least one major recurring role which they can have input in picking and/or designing, and are more likely to be cast first for important roles simply because we know they’re coming.

• We want to get our weekend staff as involved in the campaign as you care to be — providing you with all the campaign and character information you need for each role, and striving to make each role fun (and each role count). We try to make sure that all NPCs who want them get named and recurring roles, and we send out no “random recycling crunchies.” We may work you hard, but we’ll do our very best to make sure that you have a fantastic time doing it.

• We precast NPC roles for each pre-registered staffer, and do our best to get you costuming and basic role info before the event. So pre-register to staff for us as early as you can (or join Permanent Staff)!
